Located on it's own private beach near Palm Cove, just north of Cairns in tropical North Queensland, the Kewarra Beach Resort used to be 75 acres of sugar cane plantation until owners Rob and Oonagh Prettijohn decided that the property, adjacent to the Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef (and it's sister resort, the Thala Beach Lodge, a few kilometers north) could be put to better use as a resort. We heartily applaud their decision.

The pelican who greets you at the entrance to the Kewarra resort stands for peace, tranquility, and eternal happiness. The resort's polynesian, pacific-island feel is obvious from the moment you walk in.

The Kewarra resort is built around a lagoon, with 60 private bungalows scattered over 75 acres.

Bungalows are spacious, comfortable, and very private.

There are two pools, this one has a lovely waterfall.

The two-bedroom suites are very popular.

The restaurant serves gourmet food in a relaxed, island atmosphere.

Everyone seems to agree, the Kewarra is a great place to stay!
