The Arizona Inn
We'll start our tour of Tucson with this courtyard view from our featured hotel, the Arizona Inn. This hotel is located downtown, just a few blocks from the University of Arizona. Other hotel choices near the University and downtown include the Marriott Tucson University Park, Four Points by Sheraton Tucson University Plaza, and the Radisson Hotel Arizona City Center. A little farther east you'll find the Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites, and the Hilton Tucson East.
One of the most unique attractions in Tucson is Saguaro National Park, which can be seen in the two panoramas below. Tucson is in the Sonoran Desert, surrounded by mountain ranges: most notably the Santa Catalinas on the north and northeast. About 50 miles to the southwest is Kitt Peak National Observatory. The northern part of Tucson, in the foothills of the Santa Catalinas near the Coronado National Forest, has a number of fabulous golf and tennis resorts. These include the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, the Westward Look Resort, and the Omni Tucson National Resort.
Tucson International Airport is south of downtown, as is Mission San Xavier del Bac, shown below. There are numerous hotel near the airport, including the Embassy Suites Tucson International Airport, the Clarion Hotel Tucson Airport, and the Courtyard by Marriott Tucson Airport.
