The Capital Hilton
Washington DC has a tremendous assortment of hotels to choose from. We've divided the city into three major regions for you; downtown (near the White House, the Capital, the Smithsonian, and the monuments and memorials), Georgetown (near Georgetown University), and the adjacent area of Virginia (near Reagan Airport, and the Pentagon).
Here's a look at the view across the Tidal Basin, with the Wahington Monument on the left, and then proceeding left to right, the Smithsonian, the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, the Capital (off in the distance) and the Jefferson Memorial.
If you'd like to stay downtown, near Capital Hill, the Mall, the White House, and all the monuments, you can consider L'enfant Plaza Hotel, the Capital Hilton, the Hay Adams Hotel, the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, and the Mandarin Oriental Washington DC. If you haven't been to Washington recently, you might not have seen the spectacular World War II Memorial (below), or the FDR Memorial (following).

Georgetown is a major center for nightlife, restaurants, and entertainment, and, of course, is the home of Georgetown University. Virginia near Reagan Airport and the Pentagon
Just across the Potomac River, near Reagan International Airport, Arlington Cemetery, and the Pentagon, are the Virginia cities of Arlington and Crystal City.
