Miami
Beach, Florida
The
Delano

Most of the action in Miami happens in South Beach. There are lots of hotels in the Art Deco district, including the Shore Club, the Delano, the Cardozo, the Albion, the Bentley, the Essex House, the La Flora, the Loews, and the Colony.
South Beach has it all, from the sparkling beach and rollerblading in Lummus Park to the restaurants and cafes lining the streets of Ocean Drive, and shopping on Lincoln Road.
At night, you'll be surrounded by neon lit dance clubs where you can party all night to the hottest salsa music, or just walk around and go people-watching....any way you look at it, South Beach is HOT! Whether you want to party all day, party all night, or both, this is the place. In fact, if there's a hotter place on the planet than Ocean Drive between 5th and 15th streets, we haven't seen it yet.

Of course there are other great places to stay in Miami Beach. There are dozens of hotels on Collins Ave., including the the Fontainebleau Hilton, the Eden Roc, and the Alexander Hotel. The Fontainebleau has a spectacular fresh water pool (one of the best we've ever seen), with a waterfall. There's also a (deeper) salt water pool.
As for the ocean...well, it's WARM (about 90 degrees when we went), and there's an enormous sandbar right in front of the spot where this panorama was taken (just to the north of the booth where they rent jet skis) where you can walk out about 150 feet from the shore and be chest high in crystal clear water. Reminds us a little bit of the big sandbar in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki, but this one seems even bigger.
A bit farther to the north you'l find the Sheraton Bal Harbour Resort and the Turnberry Isle Resort & Club.
